Happy National Sandwich Day
Today is National Sandwich Day.
And now, an ode to some of my favorite sandwiches ever.
- Spicy #1 at Saigon Banh Mi, aka Viet Nam Banh Mi So. Pork roll, pork in jerk sauce, and vietnamese salami, a dash of sriracha hot sauce, pickled carrots, cilantro, and cucumber on a toasted crusty French baguette. With a Stewart’s diet root beer please.
- The turkey and cheese at Primanti’s in Pittsburgh. With coleslaw and french fries on it. On the best bread ever. Side of pickles. And a pint of Iron City.
- I’m one Yankees win away from being able to like Philly - specifically a steak with sharp provolone from Pat’s King Of Steaks. With onions, of course.
- When at home? Eddie’s Deli on Bainbridge. Chicken cutlet on a hero with cheddar, lettuce onions, and honey mustard. Side of cucumber pickles. Diet Snapple iced tea.
